ATENS: Tricoten WP obtains phytosanitary registration in the USA

After years of development and significant investment in R&D, ATENS’ product Tricoten WP has officially obtained its phytosanitary registration in the United States under EPA registration number 96029-2. This is an exceptional achievement for ATENS, a pioneer and leader in the development and manufacturing of microorganisms.

New Tool for Biocontrol of Fungal Diseases

With an R&D investment exceeding 3.5 million euros since the project’s inception in 2015, ATENS has developed this new biological fungicide applicable to all types of crops.

Tricoten WP is an innovative and effective solution for controlling various high-impact diseases, offering farmers a new tool to protect their crops.

Exclusive Strain: Trichoderma atroviride AT10

Tricoten WP, based on the exclusive strain Trichoderma atroviride AT10 isolated by ATENS, has proven to be an effective weapon against devastating diseases such as Fusarium, Sclerotinia, Botrytis cinerea, and other soil and wood fungal diseases.

One of the most significant advantages of Tricoten WP is its multimodal mode of action, in contrast to traditional chemical solutions that generally act on a specific metabolic pathway of the pathogen. Chemical fungicides often target a critical point in the fungus’s metabolism, facilitating the emergence of resistant strains through natural selection. In contrast, Tricoten WP deploys multiple action mechanisms simultaneously, making it extremely difficult for resistances to develop.

Additionally, being an approved low-risk active substance, it guarantees safe handling for both the user and the environment, complying with the most demanding standards and regulations in sustainable agriculture.

Easy Application and Maximum Efficacy

Tricoten WP (Trichoderma atroviride AT10) bases its efficacy on the combination of action mechanisms, including competition for soil resources, antibiosis, mycoparasitism, and induction of systemic resistance in plants. This comprehensive approach enhances the efficacy of biological control and ensures a sustainable and durable solution to protect crops, promoting a safer and healthier agricultural environment.

The versatility of Tricoten WP allows its application to all types of crops. It integrates easily into various agricultural practices, optimizing its efficacy and facilitating its use.

  • Irrigation, by diluting in water, ensuring uniform and effective distribution across a wide variety of crops.
  • Foliar application for wood fungus control.
  • Seed treatment, in conjunction with the GreenBind technology patented by ATENS.

      Cutting-Edge Technology for Superior Quality

The reproduction process of Trichoderma atroviride AT10 in solid medium bioreactors ensures stable and high-quality production, thanks to ATENS‘ patented technology. This translates into benefits such as:

      • High concentration and stability of spores.
      • Prolonged shelf life.
      • Greater resistance to UV radiation.
      • Application across a wide range of soil temperatures and pH levels.

      Global Market Presence

According to Javier Jofré, Marketing Director at ATENS, “ATENS is taking a strong step into the Biocontrol market, providing a real solution thanks to its years of experience working with Trichoderma. Tricoten WP is destined to be a key product in ATENS’ portfolio.”

In parallel with the U.S. registration, Tricoten WP is in the final phase of registration in multiple countries, including the European Union, which will allow its global commercialization.

A Giant Step Towards Sustainable Agriculture

From now on, farmers can integrate Tricoten WP into their biocontrol strategies, enhancing the sustainability and productivity of their crops.

According to Verónica Cirino, CEO of ATENS, “The achievement of Tricoten WP’s registration is the result of arduous and intensive efforts in both R&D and resources. We embarked on this path because of our conviction in the great potential of the Trichoderma AT10 strain, which possesses superior characteristics compared to current market alternatives.”

Join the Agricultural Revolution with Tricoten WP and Take Your Crops to the Next Level!

ATENS is proud to bring this new fungicide to various markets, reaffirming its commitment to innovation and excellence in sustainable agriculture. Tricoten WP not only represents a significant achievement for the company but also a transformative tool for farmers worldwide.
